The “Streets of Fire” Skateboard Demonstration and Bike Rodeo was held Saturday October 1 on DeLa Mar Street. Over 500 people attended the event that highlighted the safety of skateboarding and bicycling. The Fairhope Police Bike Patrol was on site to help the younger bicyclist with safety demonstration and free Bike Helmets.

Federal Grant given to the city of Fairhope to build the South Beach trail, at Debbie’s urging, gave an additional grant to build the reading pod pictured below. The South Beach Trail in Fairhope was funded by Recreational Trails Program grant written by Debbie for the city. Approximately 80% of the $138,000 was spent on the multipurpose trail, along with a reading pod area for school children and small assemblies.
